Sidney Always born 1881 in Olveston Gloucestershire. Parents Edward and Elizabeth Always. In 1901 he was a Grenadier Guard. In 1911 Sidney married either Maria Sanders or Harriett Talbot. But can I find him on the 1911 census, no. There is another Sidney F Always b the same year in Alveston visiting a family in Surrey, he is not my Sidney. Sidney died in 1929.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think the surname is ALWAY?
According to his British Army WWI Pension Records on Ancestry he married Harriett TALBOT 23/3/1911 at the Reg. Office ,Bristol.
There are a few children listed which I don't quite understand (some born as early as 1907??). Yeck! My eyes!

These are the other children born before that marriage
ALWAY, SIDNEY PERCY mmn CREASEY
GRO Reference: 1907 Dec Quarter in THORNBURY Volume 06A Page 243
ALWAY, HAROLD EDWARD SPENCER mmn CREASY
GRO Reference: 1909 March Quarter in GODSTONE Volume 02A Page 228

If the earlier children with mmn Creasey are his as per Army document then Sidney is the one you have found in Surrey 1911
-
Rosie, I think they are the children of the other Sidney F Always I mentioned, the family he was visiting in 1911 was called Creasy.
-
Maybe my Sidney was never in the army. Rather confused been looking for a marriage between Sidney Always and Edith Creasy with no luck.

But where was he in 1911 maybe abroad.
Sorry but he has got to be the one in Surrey, his two sons mentioned on his Army record are also with him.
Part of his Army record seems to imply he was in the Reserves from 9.7.1909 and re-engaged 15.2.1913.
I suspect that he may not have married Edith Creasey. There is no mention of it on his service record.
-
Rosie, I guess I have to accept the 1911 census. Although I can find Sidney on the earlier census living with his parents but no sign of a Sidney Frederick, only entry I could find was a Frederick F born 1902.
Thank you for your help

Just out of interest and it does confirm that the 2 sons on the 1911 do belong to Sidney. Both sons moved to Leicester very likely with Sidney and Harriett, pity the 1921 census is not out yet,

Think I've found Harriet (as Talbot) in 1911 working at the same type of place as Sidney works

Thanks Comberton, helina

I am now wandering what happened to Edith Creasy/Alway the wife of Sidney Always as on the 1911 census. Found out she was a servant working in Reigate in 1901. As yet can find no marriage for Edith and Sidney (according to the 1911 census they had been married for 3 years) But what happened after 1911 and why did 2 young boys not stay with their mother, or did they stay and move to Leicester later.
The only record I can find after 1911 is on FindMyPast a death in 1957 Wandsworth London
Has anyone else got any ideas? Any help would be appreciated

Edith Mary Creasey
born 5th December 1876 Charlwood, Surrey
Baptised 25th March 1897 Kingswood, Surrey
parents Thomas & Ellen (deceased)
Thomas is head of household on 1911 census you have
Can't find her in 1939 but both boys are in Leicestershire
-
Thanks Comberton, I have searched using the surname Always and Creasy after 1911 and nothing. There is another Edith Mary but born in Yorkshire. Did find a Edith Creasy on the 1939 reg in hackney born in 1876 but different birth date, this Edith was down as a widow.
