Title: Death record 2005
Post by: telephonist on Thursday 20 December 18 05:59 GMT (UK)
Hello and Merry Christmas everyone,

Am i wishful thinking or is it possible to find a death record for a person who died in NZ in 2005 without knowing the date and place?

Would searching all the death indexes at  library be the only way i could maybe find this record?

Oh well then, I have no idea.
you could try phoning NZ BDMs  I suppose.
Or as you said, library and newspapers.

I am not sure how far  this site goes back it does cover deaths reported in the newspapers in NZ relatively recently.

Think it goes back to 2007.

Not sure if BDM's will give you the information over the phone, as you will need a RealMe account for Non Historical Records.

How far do your records go back?
We have been recording all daily newspaper death notices since December 2006.

Hello...

If Janette has no luck (unlikely I know :-) you can always ask for a look up of the Burial Locator CD. It has 2005 records on it.

Or I can do a cemetery website search of most online NZ cemeteries. Only takes a few moments. Just need a name.

Regards
Beg
