I have a Nicholas Johnson born around 1758 and buried 08/11/1844 in Saint Mary's Swansea. On the 1841 census he is living with one of his children and family and it shows his birth place as "Foreign". I can't find a way of finding his country of origin. I then thought of his burial but as far as i am aware there is no graveyard at St Mary's in the centre of Swansea and i can't find a monumental inscription list for St Mary's can anyone help?

Hi David
Have you found his marriage ie. working back from the births of his children?

Yes he was married 21/05/1793 to Ann Morgan in St Mary's Swansea and then to a Jane Jones on 06/2/1808 in St Mary's Swansea as far as i know but obviously these are before general registration so no certificates available. I have viewed these marriages in the original parish records and it gives no more info.

After recently looking through records in Swansea family history centre i have found a monumental inscription which doesn't lead me any further and an obituary again which gives no more info, i'm gonna leave this one for now.
