Title: Daniel Jones and Sophia. Nothing earlier than 1891?

Daniel Born 1852, Llanelly, occupation mason.
Sophia born 1853, LLanelly.

In 1891 I have them living with their family in 9 Cambrian Place, Llanelly. Sophia died two years later.

I can't find anything about them before 1891 and would welcome any earlier evidence of either or both of them.

This line has emanated from a 99 cM DNA match that I share with a maternal cousin so the connection is most likely to be from somewhere around Brechfa, LLanegwad, Felingwm or Llanllawddog. Less likely would be from around Llanybydder or Rhydcymerau.

They are the paternal grandparents of my match's mother and I will copy this post again for the maternal grandparents.

So who , when and where was their child, and what was Sophia's maiden name?

There is no town of birth in the 1891?

They are transcribed as JAMES in 1881 (Ancestry). Daughter Rosalia (b.1881) is transcribed as Stovelea Jane James.
Looks like Sophia's mn was WILLIAMS.

Hi again, at the marriage of Daniel/Sophia the banns were read at Dafen, St Pauls, Silvanus Williams married Ann Harvey 28th April 1837 Dafen

Hi again, when Daniel married, he stated he was living at Union Buildings, Llanelly, might be the Thomas Jones 37 occ Quarryman wife Martha & family in 1871 no Daniel?

The 1861 for this family confirms I believe that Daniel was the illegitimate son of Martha Jenkins, a birth Dec qtr 1852 Carmarthen has no mothers maiden name, and on 1861 census Daniel Jones aged 8 was born Carmarthen
