There's an article in the Bedfordshire Mercury of Friday 26th April 1912 about the opening (yesterday) of the New Children's Home at Kempston Lodge. It says the home is intended for children aged 3 years & upwards, and will accommodate some 40-50 children. At present only 14 boys have been taken there & the girls are going over at an early convenient date. It names the Matron & Assistant Matron & Foster Parents.

"Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Records Service has some records from the children’s home. They are embargoed for one hundred years due to the sensitive of the material they contain."
