Title: Patrick Scullion, Hamilton
Post by: daretodiscover on Sunday 08 December 19 20:56 GMT (UK)
I wonder if someone can pull up an obituary for this man? No middle name, as far as I know.

Here's what I know about him. Served in the RCAF in WWII. Shot down and taken prisoner July 1944. From Hamilton, Ontario. Father's name was John who lived at 1323 Main Street East, Hamilton. He had two brothers, also in the RCAF, names Roger and Robert as well as another brother, James, who was in the army.

He also had a sister, Helen, who was married to William Armit of Hamilton.

A book written by a fellow POW says (in 1995) that Scullion was deceased.

Many thanks in advance.

B 1919 Kirkintilloch mother named Margaret?

I believe this is the one you seek scroll down https://huroniamuseum.com/2018/08/

My guess is the lifestyle suited him but the 3hr commute to the cottage likely tore into his nerves with bumper-to-bumper traffic so they moved there.

Ask the Parry Sound Library for a copy of the obit to confirm.

Many thanks DonM and Sandra.

I came across the photo of Patrick Joseph's grave marker but had discounted it because in all the RCAF and Hamilton Spectator articles he was shown only as Patrick.

I asked the Parry Sound Public Library for his obit but they have now turned over their obituary collection to the West Parry Sound District Museum so I will make inquiries there.

Hopefully the obit will be forth coming  :)  Not unusual for a middle name not to appear on records.
Does seem a coincidence he was in that area.
