Would just like to let anyone who lives outside Sunderland who may be considering visiting or contacting the Local Studies Library in Sunderland to know that they are moving to new premises.
They are moving to the Elephant Tea Rooms which is on the junction of Fawcett Street and High Street, known locally as Mackies Corner. Only a short walk from where they are now situated.
The library will be closed from 5pm on Thursday the 12th December and will reopen on Friday 31st January.

Owing to some technical difficulties the move is taking longer than expected and the library is yet to reopen. Will message if a new opening date is announced.
