Looking for family background information on Lorcan Sherlock who was Mayor of Dublin 1912-15.
I have been researching a Sherlock family with roots to the Rathmines/Rathgar area circa 1870s-80s where on the 2nd Sept 1877 a John Sherlock married Alice Connor in Lady of Refuge church.
The marriage record shows his father was Patrick Sherlock from Dunville Tce, the fathers occupation given as 'Herd's' (im presuming cattleman/herdsman are one and same ?) Patrick was a Blacksmith.
Im hoping that with the relative rarity of the Sherlock surname 'my' Sherlock's may be related.

Interesting that the entry above Agnes Mary is one for Margaret Mary Walsh, born 21st October 1866 at 30 Upper Mecklenburg Street. Her mother is Mary Anne Walsh formerly Sherlock, and the informant is Bridget Sherlock also of 30 Upper Mecklenburg Street. She also was the informant for the birth of Agnes Mary, who was born at 22 Upper Mecklenburg Street.
Was Bridget a sister of Mary Anne and Thomas?
