Title: Mr A. Maclennan, Fraserburgh
Post by: alanatabz on Friday 17 April 20 07:32 BST (UK)
Can anybody help?

Looking for an A. McLennan, who may have had an Electrical / Radio shop on high Street in Fraserburgh around the time of WW2.

Can anybody verify the above or add any more detail?

Thanks in advance

1930's and 1940's phone books list an A McLennan who had a cycle and radio shop 20 miles away in Banff at 23 Bridge Street.

I also found a newspaper mention of a Mr A MacLennan listed as a pall bearer at a Fraserburgh funeral in 1943.

The 1940 valuation roll lists Alexander MacLeman as tenant and occupier of a shop at 4 High Street, Fraserburgh. Alexander D MacLeman was tenant and occupier of a house at 91 Saltoun Place.

Alexander Duthi McLeman, aged 76, mother's maiden suname Duthie, died in Fraserburgh in 1975. He was born in 1898 in Fraserburgh. Alexander D McLeman married Margaret Ann R Downie in Fraserburgh in 1935. That marriage certificate should tell you what his occupation was.
