Title: William Pipe´s family in Axbridge
Post by: Muffin41 on Thursday 04 June 20 11:23 BST (UK)
I am trying to sort this problem out and hope you can help me further.

William Pipe married Martha Wilcox 2q 1853 Bedminster, Somerset; she died 1q 1862 in Axbridge. They had 3 children; Joseph born 1855; Ellen born 1857 and Eliza born 1859 – all 3 in Congresbury.

I believe that William Pipe then married Mary Wilcox OR Matilda Mary Dyer 2q 1862? I have not found a correct marriage for them yet.

They had 3 children; Isaac born 1865; William born 1867 and Frederick born 1868 - all 3 in Congresbury.

William's second wife must have died before 1871 because he then married Hannah Moger 27 Jan 1871 in Axbridge.

My question is have I got the second marriage right OR is the death for Martha Pipe nee Wilcox the wrong one; also the second marriage?

I also have not found a death for Hannah Pipe nee Moger.

Can anyone help to sort this out?

Just found - on Family Search - that Eliza Pipe born 10 April 1859 must have emigrated to America and married James Maynard in Utah 6 Feb 1877.
- Parents William Pipe and Martha Wilcox

More confusing now Did Martha Pipe emigrate with daughter Eliza to America? ::)

What a tangle!

I now realise it was I who was in the tangle!
William married Martha/Matilda in 1853 and Mary in 1862. I expect you saw my error but were too polite to point it out.
