Good afternoon.
I'm stuck trying to find info. on the birth of one Mary Ann Dimmock, especially the names of her parents. I know she married David Newell in Wrestlingworth on 29 April 1849 when she is described as 'Minor'. She is also found in the 1851 Census of Wrestlingworth (as Mary Ann Newell) with birthplace Wrestlingworth and age recorded as 22, implying a birth date about 1829.
Any info. much appreciated.

What was her fathers name on the marriage cert?

Have you looked for her on the 1841 census? There is an entry in Wrestlingworth but she was 20yrs old

Thanks.
I don't have the actual marriage certificate, just the register entry which I transcribed back in about 1978, I suspect on a visit to the church itself. I agree buying the certificate would identify the father for sure... Maybe I will.
I should have mentioned that Mary Ann is recorded an being buried in Wrestlingworth 27 Aug 1854 aged 25, which again gives us a birth year at or about 1829. I did see the 1841 entry but she is recorded as plain 'Mary' and not with any other Dimmocks so it may be her, but I cannot tell.
Have you been able to check, somehow, the Wrestlingworth parish register for around 1829? I know Beds FHS produce a CD which should have it on, but I don't have the CD (not any CD device!)
Thanks

The Beds FHS marriage transcripts only go up to 1837, unfortunately.
However, looking at the other records, Mary Ann's parents appear to be James & Elizabeth. But that's the only baptism for a James & Elizabeth in Wrestlingworth. And I can't see any marriage for a James & Elizabeth in the Beds FHS surname index, even under variations of the name Dimmock. So I suspect Elizabeth and Lydia are probably one and the same, proving that is another matter though.
A few records which may be of interest...

Thanks so much Cuffie81. The 'Marianne' baptised in Oct 1830 looks very like the 'Mary Ann' I am looking for. The other Dimmock info I have is also very useful.
