can anybody find me details on the death of a metropolitan police officer Pc Brian Ash who was tragically killed whilst travelling home to see his family in 1959.
The accident apparently occured in Cardiff area possibly Rumney hill.
The should be a big article as there were many police officers at the Police Funeral.
This is for a colleague at work.
Many thanks

Bethan ,
thanks for looking through the archives.
this is part of a message a mate has got me from the Met Police.
I have found the Central Record of Service for PC Ash and the notification of his death in Police Orders.
His death is recorded as 27th November 1959.
This may help the hunting a bit.

Dear Dave, our local library only has the Western Mail on microfiche.
I was only able to find a little death notice in the BM+D,
It simply said; Ash Brian died tragically 27th November, son of Win and stepson of Roy Ridout, funeral 3rd of December at St Tielos church, burial at Western Cemetery Cardiff.
I would suggest that you ask your friend where Brian Ash originated, and try the local papers there,or perhaps you could find out if Cardiff library has back copies of the South Wales Echo, sorry that I could not be of more help,Regards Bethan
