In another thread on here it's been discovered that the wife's ancestors come from the following two locations.
Kilhomny Port Charlote.
Is this also known as Port Charlotte on Islay?
And
Glassery Kilmichell.
Is this the Kilmichael Glassary, Argyll ?
These were on the 1861 census.
I can find all apart from Kilhomny .. could this be a farm or something ?
Thanks in advance,
Neil.

Might this be meant to be Kilhomny?

Thank you, I'd thought of that one as well.
It is the other side of the island to Port Charlotte so I wasn't sure.
I guess it could be a farm or suchlike

I can't find 'Kilhomny' mentioned in on-line Scottish newspapers at all - but Kilchoman gets several entries.

Thanks for looking.

I think it's a misspelling/mispronunciation of "Kilmeny" But I could be wrong.

Thanks.
The actual census does show as Kilhomny Port Charlote.
