Trying to see if anyone knows how the Shands from Banffshire and Methlick are related.

Without names & birthyears etc I doubt anybody would know
1901 Scottish census has 150 entries for surname Shand in Banffshire - none of whom were born in Methlick. 14 Shand's living in Methlick in 1901

Thank you all for the info! I have found DNA distant connections to a couple of Shands in Banffshire and the same for Methlick/Rathen Shands. Trying to figure out where they broke off from each other. My 4x G Great Granfather was John Shand b1713 in Methlick. His son William moved to Rathen at some point and married Isabel Bruce and had his children there.
