I'm searching for his place of burial, and the likeliest place would seem to be at Weston-sub-Edge; if not there, then possibly Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
Major de Freville and his wife, Margaret, lived at Weston-sub-Edge, Gloucestershire, but he also had connections with Cambridgeshire and Essex, and despite obituaries appearing in several regional newspapers, there was no mention of where he had been interred.
He'd been invalided home from the war in South Africa in October 1900, having contracted enteric fever. By late 1901 his health was so poor that he retired to Scarborough "with which place his wife's family are connected," and died there on Saturday 12th October 1901.
Born Edward Henry Greene, he changed his name to Edward Henry Greene de Freville by Royal license in 1885, when he succeeded to the Cambridgeshire estates of his aunt.
Mrs de Freville's maiden name was Rickaby, and she was connected with the Boynton family of Burton Agnes, East Yorkshire. She died at Maugersbury, Stow-on-the-Wold on 22nd August 1939, and was buried at St Lawrence's Church, Weston-sub-Edge.

Are you saying that he is not in the same grave as his wife?

I've no idea, I can't assume that he is. I can't find any anything about where he was buried, but it would seem most likely that they share the same grave. However, it's a possibility that he was buried in or near Scarborough.

Interesting. Unless I'm missing something, I cannot find any record of his death. Nothing on GRO using Greene or Greene de Freville.
Added: Found it now. DE FREVILLE, EDWARD HENRY GREENE 52
GRO Reference: 1901 D Quarter in SCARBOROUGH Volume 09D Page 238
As you can see registered as De Freville.

I hate looking up people with double-barrelled names, but he is there,

Having put in De Freville in the names for newspapers I get 347 hits. Whether any of those contain information as to where he is buried............
Not wading my way through that lot ::)

Have you considered contacting Weston-Sub-Edge church to see if they can help with whether Edward was buried there?

Have noted that mckha had identified burial place.
I trawled through obit after obit without success until hit the Yorkshire Post 15 Oct 1901 which included this extra snippet "The funeral takes place at Scarborough today". Nice to get a result.
