Hi Loumor,

It is important to use the correct spellings for the names, otherwise you will find progress is tricky.

I expect that Waultraud should be Waltraud.
Juergon should probably be Jürgen.
"Tante" is the German word for "aunt", so Margaret was known as Aunt Grata.
Gunter should probably be Günter. (I'm not advocating making cold calls, but for your information, there is a Günter Leistikow currently listed in the telephone book for Hildesheim.)

If you can't type an Umlaut on your computer, use "ue" for "ü" (Juergen, Guenter, etc.).

Best regards,
Karen

Because the year of birth is within the last 100 years or so there is unlikely to be much online. You may need to start by contacting the civil registry for the relevant towns and ordering birth, marriage or death certificates where you are sure of the date/place.
For example I have a copy of a 2023 death certificate from Germany which gives a birthplace, so it would be possible to then work back from this information. Of course information on death certificates is only as good as the knowledge of the informant.

Do you speak German? If not you'll have to run this through a translation

Guide to records, in German . Some come under Schivelbein now.

https://www.pommerscher-greif.de/datenbanken/quellensuche/suchergebnisse/ortsuebersicht/?userort=SIMZIGJO73WS

The family search ones don't seem to be online, but are viewable via family search centres.

The only records I can see online are these deaths, but I am not too familiar with what is available on other Polish websites

https://metryki.genbaza.pl/genbaza,list,279563,1

It may be worth looking through in case there are any Leistikow or Steinhaus mentioned.
