Hi thanks for any light on this. Amelia (Emilia) born 1850 Tredegar married Evan Samuel 14.3.1868
Last babe 1875 then in 1881 in the Abergavenny Lunatic Asylum and stayed thereabouts 1891 1901. I cannot find her in the 1911 census even on card catalogue or in fam search ancestry etc. She died in Hay Breconshire 1930. She was apparently not able to give an account of herself in 1881. As people often went to such places for a variety of reasons only some of which were psychiatric I am interested in 1. the diagnosis in case she had eclampsia and had a stroke and 2. where she was in 1911. cheers

This site says that patient records 1851 to 1974 are available, Do you have them?

Your subject header is misleading - any census entry would be under her married name - Evan Samuel married Emilia Meredith 1868
Patients in asylums were mainly recorded under their initials only.
