Hi, I don't think this is my Elinor, her Father's name was Thomas Williams. She married my Gt Grandfather William Hopkins in 1843 Trevethin, and states on certificate that her father's name was Thomas Williams. Problem is she was a Williams. Previous to this date she had married a David Jones. She was late Jones formerly Williams. Also on Childrens birth certificates it states late Jones formally Williams. Thank you for help. Regards Linda

I don’t know if this is if help, there is another marriage but in Bedwellty Monmouthshire.
23 November 1840
David JONES bac. full age Collier of Tredegar father Thomas JONES Collier.
Eleanor WILLIAMS sp. minor of Tredegar father Thomas WILLIAMS Farmer
Both made X, witnesses Thomas DAVIES X and ? JONES (first name illegible, possibly Evan)
-
parish entry for the 1843 marriage has Thomas Williams collier, witnesses James & Mary Saunders who signed, bride and groom both marked. James also witnessed the previous marriage on the register & the following one so he could be the parish clerk or another church official.
The vicar noted that the marriage was on Saturday morning. :D

Hi, thank you for your help, I will look into marriage info that Jebber sent. There is only one problem Eleanor's father was a collier. Re the marriage in 1843 sent by Osprey I have that marriage certificate, Eleanor states herself as a spinster. On other info I have Eleanor in 1843 was Administrex for David Jones. Also on William and Eleanors Childrens certificates it states she was late Jones formally Williams. Thank you regards Linda.

Hi, in 1851 they were living in Mynyddislwyn. Eleanor states that she was born in Neath. Thank you.

Marriage also shows surname as Hopkin - Sept qtr 1843 Pontypool RD
William Hopkin / Eleanor Jones
You don't mention having got Eleanor on 1841 census :-\
On other info I have Eleanor in 1843 was Administrex for David Jones.

Hi, thank you for all your help. On the 1841 census I have found a David Jones age 30 born in Monmouthshire, and also Eleanor Jones age 21 not born in county. Address they are living at is Gwhray Mynyddislwyn Monmouthshire. Which is where most of the Hopkins family come from, William Hopkins who she married in 1843 lived in the same area. So hopefully I might be getting somewhere.
Thank you all once again regards Linda.
