This guy was photographed aboard a ship in Liverpool. the watermark on the bottom states "Americas Galleries" at 7 Lime St, Liverpool.
Can you date this from his clothes and also how old would you say he was?
Thanks in advance.

I'd day he was 30-ish but, sorry, can't help with a date.

I agree, he looks to be about 30 years old... can't help with the date though, maybe the collar & tie and short jacket lapels will help someone else date it.

Doesn't help with his age but era -
American Galleries, 7 Lime Street Liverpool. They were operating from around 1912-1918 and also had studios at Kinmel Camp and 17 High Street, Rhyl, North Wales, and at 259 Argyle Street Glasgow.

Thanks everyone and the galleries operating years does help immensely. I've done a little research and the collar and tie seems to be popular about 1890's so perhaps a long standing uniform?

Hi Yvonne, I have a photo of my Grandpa with the same collar and tie combination and it was dated late 1890s early 1990s.

Brilliant! Looks like this could be a photo of my Great grandfather then, I'm still digging!
