Thats marvelous
I cant keep up but it looks like youve solved the dna puzzle
I got noels age from a death record of a noel Thompson in Darlington
The KING first name was not Isabella on Denise Elizabeth Thompson s death certificate for her mother
There could be another Noel Thompson + King marriage i suppose
Ive got to go through all this information then check all the DNA matches
Busy weekend ahead

Are we supposing that noels father william was son of john THOMPSON and Elizabeth winterbottom
Have i missed evidence .?
William THOMPSON and Elizabeth Violet MCCRODDEN had at least 7 children
in 1911
Rose 11
Robert 9
Albert 8
clement noel 4
gladys 2
& Baby Sydney
With them were
Relatives margaret MCCRODDEN 55 and Josephine MCCRODDEN widow nurse + boarders and visitors
I hope that wasnt the William thompson who died in WW1
Do 1939 records exist for Ireland ?
-
There is so much information. What do you think?
Lizzie Thompson’s father was John, a slater.
William Thompson - father John a slater
-
Perhaps there is a John, son of John - generation between John and William :-\
-
I have found these. You will have to check and see if they apply to your family. You had Bidelia b Killacloran
Marriage 1875 (Killacloran)
John Joseph Thompson, widower and Rosanna Shiel
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1875/11212/8109855.pdf
Death of John Thompson 1902
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1902/05696/4606028.pdf
1901 census
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Wicklow/Aughrim/Killacloran/1814418/
I can’t find the births of the children from 1901 nor a death for Elizabeth Thompson before 1875
***
If you look at 1911 Household form, it looks as though there is an entry for William which is crossed through. It is feint and is open to interpretation.

More great finds another DNA connection has Roseanne SHIELS and John Thompson being parents of Louisa THOMPSON
looks like there is a 45 year plus age gap between the couple
In 1901 John Joseph is 96 Roseanne is 45 in 1911 she's 62
& There are 3 more sons for the couple on both census Abraham 20 Albert 18 Fred... 16
There's also a neice Kate I'm wondering if her surname could actually be SEILAS or Sheils mistranscribed
the crossed out line for William says slater and married for 12 years maybe he was elsewhere on census night
I.ll try and do a summary of findings so far .it's all looking very likely
-
I think William who is crossed out is likely to be William who is married to Violet in reply #11 and is the father of Noel.
Birth of Louisa Thompson - 1883

Fully agree Heywood
So far we have John THOMPSON of Killaclorin Aughrim county Wicklow
1804-1903 sometimes used Joseph as middle name
Worked as Slater in most records .
First wife Elizabeth WINTERBOTTOM 1833 - 1875
Children
John Joseph THOMPSON 1858-1938 m Nellie SHERWIN
Robert Warren THOMPSON 1863- 1943
Elizabeth 1865-1923 m Robert Warren FINLAY 1857-
Bidelia 1867 may have married in Kendal Westmoreland in 3rd q 1894 husband unknown
John Thompson had 5 known children with wife REbecca SHEILL b ABT m aug 1875
Son William THOMPSON b same year 1875 m Elizabeth Martha violet MCCRODDEN
Abraham b1880
Louisa b1883- 1923 m William John WEIR 1860-1950
Albert THOMPSON
Fred THOMPSON 1885
All born county Wicklow
There is a possibility that he had another wife between Elizabeth & Rebecca
There is also a possibility of a children born outside marriage.or deceased between census
Not seen any Irish census before 1901
I haven't counted number of grandchildren yet
-
I found an amusing land document which I think is for this John Thompson in 1853
Regarding a very inferior property ..on swampy grounds ...with a waste of ? Road + river ? Unclear
