Title: George Cruickshank 1846-1917
Post by: Philldw on Monday 02 August 21 13:22 BST (UK)
i am looking for the birth records for this gentleman. The location being Kincardine O'neil or Kemnay as this is where  most of the family are located. Have not  been sucessful with Scotlands People.
In fact I  cannot find any birth records for any 'George's' for the period 1845-1847.
Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thank You David

Registering of births in Scotland did not start until 1st January 1855-
ADDED Have you looked at baptisms

There was a large family of Cruickshanks living at Kemnay. Parents George Cruickshank 1807-1882 and wife Mary Rankin 1821- 1894. I found a death record in 1917, a bit of a gruesome death, a crushed osophegus, he worked a a stone cutter, even though 71 years old. confirms birth year 1846.
There was a later George Cruickshank b 1869 but he was illigitimate.
If the records only started in 1855 that would explain why I cant find it.
Thanks for all your help. david

Do not think the photo is our man...where was it taken? He never moved far from the Kemnay/kintore area in Aberdeenshire.
