Good day all,
My ancestors James Cullen (full age) and Mary Jane Shillington (19yo) were married 24 July 1845 by licence in Clonfectlel, Tyrone, NI. Robert Cullen and James Shillington are shown ans their fathers, both farmers, on this document. The pair moved to Portsea shortly after - I think James may have been in the forces. I am attempting to find out who their mothers were and take this family further back. Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers and hoping to hear soon, JDC

Thx for the info Kiltaglasson. Do you think these places where James and Mary Jane were at the time are also where their parents were? As farmers, were their fathers landowners?

According to Griffiths Valuation of 1860, James Shillington rented his farm from the Earl of Ranfurly.

The Cullens at Mullybrannon also rented their farms from the Earl of Ranfurly.
