Post by: Lensmeister on Sunday 19 September 21 20:43 BST (UK)
Hi all,

Hoping someone may be able to supply with info from the paper in 1950s.

10 Feb 1950 - regarding a race horse and the railway at Ampthill

13 Aug 1953 - Regarding the Station Master and wife.

Many thanks in advance,

You can get a free trial on the British newspaper archive and download those yourself if they are on there

Think I've found the article of 10 Feb 1950 - regarding race horse belonging to Frederick Farrar of Hillfoot Farm Pulloxhill. It is a long article so I cannot repeat it here.

There is no Beds Times of 13th Aug 1953 - it came out on 14th Aug... I cannot find any possible article with 'Ampthill' or 'station'. Have you a name for the station master?

You can Free access to BNA or FindMyPast from Bedford Borough Libraries if you are a library member, and even if you are not, you can join the library, doesn't matter where you live.

The piece about the Stationmasters wife is in the Luton News and Bedfordshire Chronicle 13th August 1953. Again, quite a long piece.
