Title: Joshua Bouston
Post by: 0191alex11 on Tuesday 05 October 21 17:49 BST (UK)
Hi! Can anyone help with the following?

I have the following four people all born in Roxburghsire as Quakers but cannot find birth dates or parents?

Joshua Bouston born 1670

Abraham Bouston born 1671

Elizabeth Bouston born 1673

James Bouston born 1676

I believe Joshua Bouston married a lady called Sarah and eventually moved to Lanchester in Durham and had children there?

Any help gratefully accepted! :)

Go to http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/welcome.aspx

Select Search then under Reference type in CH10 which is all they have on Quakers.
For date from 1500-1800 or whatever you want and his the red Search button.

This means you either have to visit Edinburgh and view the records or send them an email and request a search which can be expensive if you are seeking multiple searches.

Family Search has only Aberdeen (Maxwell Strath) and David Dobson which I believe were excerpts from Strath.

Sorry I can't think of any other sources.

Hi

In Scottish Quakers and Early America, 1650-1700 - Page 3 by David Dobson · 1998, the family are listed with birthdates and father Robert, said to be of 'Darnock', probably Darnick near Melrose.
