While I can search Births and Deaths, the Marriage search results (well withing the period allowed) comes up with:-
"Your search did not produce any results. Please refine your search and try again"
Is anyone else having the same problem?
I even tried a search that I've found in the past for a marriage in 1920 with the same result.

Just tried my luck and I got the same result as you.

Try searching for a famous Victorian .... e.g. Robert Gordon MENZIES ... He was born in Vic. If he's not there, then it's ummm .... o-o-o.

Quite bizarrely it is only hitting for a surname (eg Wilson or Jones or Brown etc) if the spouse's surname was also Wilson or Jones or Brown etc
It does not matter whether you put in a surname for spouse or not, that is what it displays! ::)

I believe that there is an I T problem with Victorian Marriages and that it is being worked on.
We can but hope it is remedied soon :(

I noticed there was a problem with searching marriages several days ago, after trying several names, one being Jeffs, I figured it would get fixed sooner or later.

I got a reply from an email pointing out the problem.
Hi, Thank you for your email. We are currently investigating the issue and working to implement a fix as soon as possible.

Hi,
I had the same problem a few weeks ago.
As I have the marriage index on Digger - I just put in the register number and year of the marriage and I got the correct marriage.
If you don't have the index perhaps I can help you or some other kind person will be able to.

Add: I may have had to put the Christian name of one them - not too sure now (my senior brain).

Hi Rick & Sarra,
The Vic BDM's still have the same issue with marriages. Seems unusual they haven't fixed it by now. ??? I solved my query another way, so do not need help. Thank you for the kind offer anyhow. :)
Hope it's fixed soon.
Cheers, Bob

Without wishing to sound ungracious, I will put here a comment.
I am not in the slightest surprised that the simple glitch persistes.
When the Victorian BMD search site was "revamped and updated" a few years ago, it went from being a very user-friendly working resource to what we have today and it took many months to become even functional.
Emails and complaints were politely acknowledged but action was glacial. ;)
I personally find its formatting difficult quite awkward.
So let's hope the problem is being looked at and resolved soon.
Meanwhile there is Ancestry with all its omissions and odd spellings or the old discs.

Yes VIC BMD are possibly THE worst "Govt" department to get information out of. I rang them to alert them to the problem with an Historic Marriage search on their Web Site and the phone wait time was 3 hours. I hung up and sent an email and surprisingly I received a reply 2 days later.
I actually like the revamped search bit on VIC BMD where they provide lots more information than the brief list you got earlier.
And as for Ancestry apart from the high cost of being a member, I've given up on members trees and the copying (mostly incorrect) without research. If it's on two trees it must be right. Grrrrr!!!!! I've pointed out errors on Ancestry to be ignored by the tree owner. But that's for another thread ;D

This is now displayed on the VIC BMD Web Site.
Service interruption
There is currently an error affecting historical marriage searches. Marriage searches are not returning any results. A fix is scheduled for 9 November 2021. We apologise for the inconvenience.

WELL!!! That didn't happen. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!

The Vic BMD'S site will be closed for maintenance from 11 pm 9th Nov until 1 am 10th Nov. Hopefully this is to fix the marriages problem. Fingers crossed.
