Hi, Pat
Can't trace these people on 1891 or 1901. He was born Gerrans, wasn't he??
Tricia

He was born Portscatho Gerrans but on the 1901 index there is no place of birth listed.
Thought I would take a chance as the age and profession were right and his sister Mary Truran was also living in Walthamstow
many thanks

This is the chap you saw but wife is Ada. Lavinia must have died not long after 1881 census as these people have a child born 1882

What is a puzzle is that there are several matches on 1901 for John Johns son of Edward and Lavinia - no way of knowing which is correct

Not to worry as somethings we just have to put on the back boiler until more evidence comes up.
Thank you for trying so hard to sort this one out for me, at least I have found Edward so that is a bonus
many thanks again for sorting this out for me

I'm 100% sure - having had a good squint - that the birth place on 1901 is Portscatho St Gerrans but the 'G' looks like 'S'
Off to bed, now. Work tomorrow ;)

Bless you for that - I am just going to bed now as a happy bunny
Have a good night
