He married Sylvia Rose Ellen Richardson around 1946 but I have not seen cert . The family lived in Lewisham at some time . He was in the First Airborne and was shot down over Arehnam . I know nothing of his parents and would love to know their names . If you can point me in right direction I am happy to search . Thanks Fred .

Scottish marriage registrations normally have both bride's and groom's parents, the mothers' maiden names and fathers' occupations.

Very good value for money!

The Evening Express (an Aberdeen paper) of 3-5-1945 has an article about returned prisoners of war. Included is:

Pte. Ernest Smith, K.O.S.B., 1st Airborne Division, 6 Hayton Road, Woodside

Woodside is a district of Aberdeen. There are no further details about him, but there is a photograph of him in uniform.
