Does anybody have access to "Bristol Municipal Burial Registers", produced on CD or download by the Bristol and Avon Family History Society please?
If so, would it be possible to look and see whether Louisa Hooper (died 14th July 1874) or Ida Gann (died 24th July 1893) are listed in it? I am trying to discover where orphans from the New Orphan Houses on Ashley Down were buried, and these two girls were orphans from that establishment. I have contacted the George Muller Charitable Trust, who keep all the records of the orphanage, but they are not able to tell me as they don't know.
Any help gratefully received, thanks.

Additional info to possibly help any search
Louisa Hooper was 14 & death was registered in the Clifton RD
Ida Denise Gann was 7 & death was registered in the Barton Regis RD

Yes, thats interesting that they were registered at two different offices.

the Clifton registration district was abolished 1 April 1877 and was replaced by Barton Regis. Ashley was a subdistrict in both.

Oh thanks for that. Much appreciated.

As orphans, it's possible they were buried in a pauper's grave?
I.E. a communal grave?
-
I had also wondered that, but you would think there would still be a record somewhere of the names, although no headstones.

Have you asked Bristol City Council?
email: cems.crems@bristol.gov.uk
(Covers all cemeteries except Arnos Vale)
Or Arnos Vale Cemetery?
E-mail: info@arnosvale.org.uk
(Info from BCC: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/residents/births-deaths-marriages/deaths/cemeteries-and-crematoria)

Asked the first one but not got an answer yet, but not tried the second. Will do that. Thanks.

Is it possible that the children were buried back in the places they originally came from? Their more distant family might not have been in a position to support them once they were orphaned, but they might have been willing to take them back for burial - alongside their parents, perhaps?

Yes I suppose thats possible. Although transportation of a body might have been beyond the financial means of some families. There must have been somewhere local for those who could not afford it.
