is there any newspaper articles on the death of ellen jones who died between april to june 1903 aged 80yrs in Llanllyfni area
-
You've been going through lots of Ellen Jones, i.e.
Topic: ellen jones burial
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=865328.0
Which Ellen Jones are you looking for?
-
she is on the 1901 census with her 2 grandsons in Llanllyfni RG13 Page Number 28
Piece/Folio 108
Schedule Type 172
-
You haven’t given both the Piece & folio number - is 108 the piece or the folio?
Schedule type has no relevance
What was her full address in 1901?
Where was the nearest burial ground to that address?
Where was her husband buried?
-
Hyfrydle Road, her husband died 27/04/1887 Tyddyngwain Llandwrog and is buried at St Thomas Groeslon. I don't know where the nearest burial ground is in Llanllyfni
-
Have you bought a copy of the death cert to confirm you have the right person as looking at your previous post you just seem to be checking every Ellen Jones with ages ranging from 75 - 88
-
yes
-
So if you have her death cert you have her exact date of death & address at which she died?
Why was that info not given as you just say "between April-June aged 80"
-
sorry carolew didn't get all the message Have you bought a copy of the death cert to confirm you have the right person. only got the full message on your 2nd reply, i thought you was talking about the certificate i have for thomas her husband
-
No - I meant her death cert.
Your previous post gives ages ranging from 75 - 88 so how old was she in 1901. I can't look it up as you haven't given the full 1901 ref Piece & folio should be 2 numbers - not one - see previous reply
-
Have just found the 1901 entry - she was 74 so why are you looking at the death of an 80yr old only 2yrs later & asking for lookups on 87/88yr olds on your previous post?
She was 63 in 1891 so no justification for such a wide age range
-
I was looking past 1911 as i can't find her between 1901-1911
-
Did you check the 1911? There is an Ellen Jones b 1829 living in the same road as the 1901 entry
If you were looking past 1911 - why look at a 1903 death??
-
ellen jones maiden name was hughes and she was baptised 24th december 1826 in Llandwrog
-
Have you looked at the 1911 entry I mentioned above?
-
I can't see the street name, i'm looking on FamilySearch
-
You need to look on a subscription site if you are looking at addresses
Only 2 entries in 1911 with an 1829 birthyear - the one you want is the one with Richard & Ann Jones both 48 in same household
Address is 21 Hyfrydle Rd
-
ok thanks for that. do you know what number house she was on the 1901 census
-
It was a long road & runs to around 8 or more pages of entries but no house number for any of them. She was the only Ellen Jones of that age in that road in 1901 - others were mainly children or in their 20's
-
Hi just checking the 1911 census and the details are . married 28yrs 6 children 3 died. i have ellen married november 1851 and her husband died april 1887 thats about 36yrs and they had 6 children which i know 1 has died

looking at the 1901 census my ellen jones was 12 entries from the halfway inn pub, this would say she was living at 24 hyfrydle road. very cose to the one on the 1911 census 21 hyfrydle road
-
Several possible deaths on freebmd from1911 onwards
-
As you know where her husband is buried etc - have you contacted the records office to establish whether Ellen was also buried there?
-
no I don't have a contact address for them
-
Use Google
-
Ellen jones must've moved out of Llandwrog district, I now gone through all the deaths for Carnarvon bar 1 who is in Llanbeblig aged 83yrs on the 1911 census
-
Replies 22 & 24 refer. Did you contact them? What was the result?
-
record office at Caernarfon is currently closed due to electrical work on the building. And Gwynedd FHS never replied to me.

Caernarvon Archives are open, just not for visitors. You can contact them https://www.gwynedd.llyw.cymru/en/Residents/Libraries-and-archives/Archives-and-family-history/Archives-and-family-history.aspx (https://www.gwynedd.llyw.cymru/en/Residents/Libraries-and-archives/Archives-and-family-history/Archives-and-family-history.aspx)

Thank you

Caernarfon Record Office got back to me today saying I have checked our collection of burial registers for St Thomas and unfortunately there is no record for the burial of an Ellen Jones between the years 1911 and 1921. The closest entry reads
Elizabeth Jones of Talysarn buried Dec 14 1919 aged 90
I have also had a look at the burial register for St Rhedyw church, Llanllyfni and there are no references to a burial for Ellen Jones in this register either.
-
I did the transcription for Ebenezer Llanllyfni and neither of your ladies are there, unless there is no headstone. From the dates of death burials are more likely to be the council cemetery on the left as you leave Llanllyfni. There is also the small Salem cemetery in Llanllyfni and MacPhelah in Penygroes

Thank you
