Amazed to find my Cockney family all came frome Yorkshire
the lived in Hessle by Hull but emigrated to Canada His name was Abner Cherry and His brother Joseph lived in Hessle would love any census info anyone can find for me please or anything else interesting Abner was born approx 1835

John's first wife Elizabeth died 1825 -born circa 1776

Then he married Mary circa 1826/27 (she dies after 1861 census)

John died 1834 age 64 born circa 1770

Although I cant see a Marriage for John/Mary this may be her.

I did see someones death reg in Canada where Mary was Mary F Cherry which was a clue :)

can 1 of you good people see if John was a shiprght also are there any records for a father of earliest Cherry John this will take me well into the 1700s

The only John Cherry born circa 1770 is baptized 5 November 1769 at Hessle
son of William Cherry - labourer

Possible link
William Cherry married Mary Walker 24 November 1757 at Hessle

Referring to the 1841 census when one son is named Walker later written as Walter
