The information that I have about Anne Kelley was given to me by other family members, no supporting documents. So the dates and place of birth information I posted could possibly be incorrect.
My family connection is their daughter Esther Ann Watkins born 23 Feb 1847.

This is Esther Ann WATKINS birth 23 Feb 1847, parents George (labourer) and Ann WATKINS (formerly KELLY) of Brighton. Mother is the informant and signs with"x"

Thank you Wivenhoe and Maddy, great information, definitely changes the direction I was looking in. Great photo of your "Gran" Maddy.

Ha! Thanks malayastar, she was well known for her outrageous swimwear which she designed and made herself in the 1910s. :D
Will keep looking for the WATKINS and KELLYS. ;)

You may have this already - Esther Ann WATKINS and Amos WELLS married 4 July 1864 at Sorell
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01rxa/
However this advertisement was placed in the Mercury (and various other papers) Wed 28 Oct 1863 :
"NOTICE - All Clergymen and others are warned against celebrating the marriage of AMOS WELLS and ANN WATKINS as a serious impediment exists to their being united, irrespective of not being of age. JOHN WELLS. Sorell 26th October, 1863"

I can see the marriage of Ann WELLS (widow, 37) to James PRICE (21) at Sorell on 5 June 1882
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01rxc/
after Amos WELLS death in 1877.
However, I can't find a further marriage for Esther Ann to Richard TOWNSEND. Just wondering where they married?
-
Oh, I see - birth of Linda TOWNSEND has father Richard TOWNSEND and mother Ann WELLS (mmn WATKINS) on 7 Aug 1880 at Sorell.
So possibly no actual marriage.
-
Right person, I have her name down as Venus LINDA olive Townsend, I thought they might not of been married.

If you need further help finding Ann KELLY, born c1815 Co Mayo, it may be an idea to place a request on the Ireland board, linking this thread.
I had a quick look to see if I could find her court case, but I'm not very proficient at Irish records. :)

Thank you Maddy, your help has been amazing.

I meant to add yesterday that whilst it doesn't mention your Anne KELLY, there is this copy of the surgeon's report of the voyage of the Mary Ann which left Dublin for Tasmania. Interesting reading for background.

Also, I think the possible death for Anne on 22 November 1882 comes from the Hobart Davey St Congregational Cemetery database which has an Ann WATKINS buried that date. Unsure whether this is "your" Ann. Whilst there's nothing to say she didn't remain in Sorell, it is a long way from Hobart.
