Title: Please can you help me with something
Post by: dorothyl on Saturday 01 April 23 11:26 BST (UK)
Hello again everyone.
I'm trying to work out something my mum told me a while ago. We were talking about my dad.
My dad was in the TA's he joined up when he was over 25.
What I'm trying to find out is this. My mum mentioned that my dad went to Scarborough.
What is baffleing me is. Was he on his way to Scarborough.

There's something else she mentioned
Apparently my dad and some of his regiment we're defending the beaches.
But when plane's few over they couldn't open fire on them. Because the pilots would know the soldiers were defending the town.
Something I don't understand.
Please can anyone help me with this.
I understand you can't help me with my mums conversation.
But maybe someone could explain the rest.
It's been baffleing me for such a long time.

My dad is Vincent Cooper. Born 27 September 1911.
This might help with the year my dad inlisted.

Thank you all again for your help.

Kind regards
Dorothy

You've posted in Armed Forces Resources which is for resources not queries. Just click on the ‘Report to Moderator’ function and ask a moderator to move this thread to the World War Two Forum.

You may need to obtain a copy of his WW2 service records

Hello again
I have a copy of my dad's Army records.
But it doesn't say anything about Scarborough.
