Title: Help with 1861 census
Post by: Arnside98 on Saturday 15 April 23 05:30 BST (UK)
I am looking for Thomas (born 1786) and Suzannah Mahon (born 1791) in the 1861 census. I found them in the 1851 census living at Old Barrack Yard, St George Hannover Square, London. In the electoral rolls, Thomas was in Ebury Street, Westminster and in 1841, Keppel Street (not with his wife)
Wonder if anyone can help me? I have found Susannah using Susan and also Mahon written as Main.
Thomas died in 1867 and not sure about Susannah - possibly 1865 so both should exist in the 1861 census.
Thanks for any help.

For the Susan who died in 1865 her address is given as 3 Pearses Cottages, Pimlico in the burial register.

This is great. This is ‘my’
Susannah as she was in the 1851 census at that address with Thomas. Thanks. I couldn’t find a burial record for her.

I’ll take a look. I tried a few different spellings/typos but not that one. Thanks.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to be in the 1861 census under that name just the 1851. Thanks

Thanks Pinetree. The death index I found said St George Hanover Square Maybe it’s a different Susan. The address seems to match but being buried in Hackney seems a bit surprising.

Thanks. Yes I believe this is my Thomas. My mum visited the graveyard recently.
He was in the St George Square area in 1865 but just can’t find him in the 1861 census. Thanks for looking.
