Title: ThomasRourke(O’Rourke)
Post by: Mariam82 on Monday 15 May 23 17:20 BST (UK)
Still trying to trace a definite area of Mayo that my Thomas Rourke originated from.  Born 1838   Marriage cert to Jane Rushton in lancs shows his father was also Thomas was deceased in 1874 - a shipbuilder from Westport.    Griffiths valuation shows me a Thomas Rourke townland Dalteen Claremorris Kilcolman.    Are there other sources I can search ?  Thomas died in Accrington in 1902.  I’m visiting mayo this year    Thank you.

If he was Catholic, the parish records begin in 1845 which sadly is too late.

Civil records begin in 1864. There are non catholic marriages though from 1845.
You might  find sibling marriages here. I couldn’t see a death.

The church record transcription (Sacred Heart, Accrington) of  the marriage shows his parents as Thomas and Martha.

You can also see baptisms there but I didn’t see any Rourke Godparents.

Looking at those Accrington records, I can’t see any Rourkes who may be related to your Thomas. There are others but looking at their marriages, they are not siblings.

Thank you for the lancs records.    Didn’t know his mother was Martha x
