I am trying to ascertain a Pte Georg Paul Bramwell cap badge/ Regiment. DOB 5 Feb 1899 Liverpool.
I have attached two photos.

He is in the 1911 census at 21 Upper Stanhope Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool. There is a military record for a George Bramwell Royal Field Artillery, 3587, with that address.
-
The photo is distorted by the (AI-based?) restoration, but it may be the expected field gun with crown above.

AlanBoyd,
I did look at his Army Record and he lied about his age and in Sep 1915 he was discharged from the RFC for lying about his age.
The photo I think could be the York’s & Lancs Regiment? I very unsure

I can’t convince myself that there is a lion with a rose above (Y&LR) in that cap badge.
Mentioning this man to rule him out:
George Bramwell, 15467 Y&LR, of Birley Carr, Sheffield, awarded the Military Medal.
-
The badly mangled restore doesn't help but possibly Small Arms School Corps.
Need to see the original.

I don’t have the photo so it’s very difficult
I do know he was married in the Rotherham area in Jan 1918?

I am afraid I don’t have the original

He was discharged from the RFA, but he did serve for a while. Would he have been entitled to wear a version of the uniform for a photo after the discharge? And even if not, perhaps he did it anyway.

Hi
You might like to make some enquiries on this site! It’s free and the people on there really know their stuff!!

AlanBoyd,
It is so difficult to find the right person. Or Regiment I shall keep trying.

South Lancashire (Prince Of Wales Volunteers) fits the badge. 100% certain of it. No chance at all he was RA in that photo.
