Information for anyone trying to help

Elizabeths place of birth is given as Stow on the Wold in 1861, the family are living in Lower Swell.

In 1871 Cornelius is with Lucy though they did not marry until 1872.  They now have a family of their own so that is probably why Elizabeth is in the workhouse.

The 1881 entry for an Elizabeth Andrews at Gloucester County Lunatic Asylum, Wotton St Mary, Gloucester, Gloucestershire has an age of 23 and place of birth as Gloucester, occupation Laundress.  This may not be the same Elizabeth Andrews.

from the image I'd say Elizabeth was an employee not a patient at the asylum, as she's mixed in with attendents, other laundresses and sempstresses and doesn;t have an indication of category of illness

I agree with Mabel about that Elizabeth being an employee at the lunatic asylum
