Hoping someone can help. I have 2 Henry Swaffins born in Brixham around 1780. Was looking for information on which one came to Wales. This Henry was a Captain and married Mary Gethin in Newport Wales. Many thanks

His marriage bond to Mary Gething is held at the National Library of Wales - you'd have to request a copy. His will is also held there - it should be available online but their servers appear to be down

Hi thank you for your reply. I have a copy of the bonds, but cant go any further back on Henrys parents, there seems to be two Henry's born a few months apart.

Thank you so much for you information. Its definitely the right information looks like one of the child was named after the ship

I spotted a Cordelia Swaffin somewhere along the line and wondered if there was a link? But this was in the 1900-1910 era.

Ha ha been passed down the line, theres a few in the tree. This branch as been on going for 5 years due to time but I think ive cracked it Henry was around 22 years older than his wife Mary and he must have lied a bit on his age, thought it was just the women
