Thanks Rosie. I did find that death. There was another child as well, Isabella Jane 1877-1880.
Margaret, the youngest daughter of Andrew jnr and Mary THOMSON went to Toronto. She married a chap called James DUGUID there in 1913. He was born in Auchterless so they may have known each other in Scotland. He had been in the Army in Scotland and when WW1 kicked off he re-enlisted in his old Regiment, but was KIA in France in October 1914. She never remarried and died in Ontario in 1965. Her oldest sister Mary Ann BISSETT went to Toronto in 1920 and lived with Margaret. She died in Toronto in 1942.
One thing I was wondering is how the name DUGUID is pronounced. Can someone help with this please.

You might want to check this death on Scotland's People
Jane Bisset 1914 Cannongate Midlothian
Some one has a marriage certificate on Ancestry which could be a possibility going by the occupation of Jane's father Andrew and both her parents being deceased.
Jane Bissett age 25 occupation domestic servant father Andrew Bissett (road surveyer )
Mother Janet ? Bisset maiden name Stewart both parents deceased
Jane married Joseph Mackay age 24 ( road contractors clerk )
16 April 1878 St George Edinburgh
1881 census they are at 52,High Street West Lothian
Jane McKay age 29 born Auchterless
1891/1901 her birth place is Aberdeen but on the 1911 census it's Auchterless they also have a son Gordon .
I would take a chance with the death certificate

I had a friend who pronounced his name, 'DooGood'

Thanks Rosie.
That does look like it is her going on the marriage and death certs. Her age is a couple of years out but still. There is only one Jane BISSET with parents Andrew BISSET and Jane STEWART. They seem to flip between BISSET and BISSETT as well.

Thanks Rosie.
That's Joseph alright.
Can't find a birth for Gordon either, anywhere. The 1891 census has him as 9 so born 1881-82. When he married in 1913 he gave his age as 26 so 1886-87.

Went looking for a death for Gordon and found a Service Return one that he died in 1915 in France/Belgium in WW1. His age there is 32 so birth of 1882-1883. He was in the Gordon Highlanders which on the daughter's birth cert as well.
There is an entry for him on the Commonwealth War Graves database, that confirms things.

That's good you found his death I did look at Military records but was looking for him in the navy going by his occupation on the 1901 census
