Title: switzerland CAT Proprietor
Post by: geenz on Saturday 19 August 23 22:59 BST (UK)
I have a swiss ancestor who is noted as a CAT Proprietor on a 1884 UK Marriage cert and would like to know exactly what it is? Any advice?

Not a cab or car proprietor?

Perhaps you could post an image of that part of the certificate. If it's from the GRO it could be mistranscribed.

What was the Swiss gentleman's name?

What does a UK census entry say?  If he appears on one.
Might help!

Thank you all.

Older writing is difficult to read.  Yes I think it is CAB Proprietor.
