Enquiring might somebody to be able to assist with information reference this Baptism :
Richard COOKE baptised 3rd March 1632 Eaton Bray, Beds.
No fathers name is mentioned, but his mother is named as Elyzabeth COOKE (spelling as recorded).
Both FindMyPast and Family Search record the same information.
I have an idea, that maybe, Elyzabeth was more than likely a single woman (by status).
Which is what I would like to confirm.
If anyone might have access to / sight of the original documents or transcriptions, that may show any additional information, that would help to clarify.
My thanks in advance, info would be most appreciated.

The reason that familysearch & FindMyPast have the same information is that FindMyPast's record is sourced from familysearch :).Index © IRI. Used by permission of FamilySearch Intl
Ancestry have the same record.
Looking at the transcripts of other baptisms in Eaton Bray for that year they only name one parent so it would be fair to assume Richard was illegitimate. Hopefully someone will be able to confirm what the register shows.
