was born in Yorkshire England 3 May 1898. The last sighting I have of him in England is in 1925.
There was a Clifford Oliver who went to Canada in 1929 - Montreal - Quebec.
Is there any way of finding out if this is the one I'm after - possibly a Canadian Death Certificate?
Thanks.

A Clifford Oliver aged 33 occ salesman is on an incoming passenger list from Montreal/Quebec
29.9.1931
The Clifford Oliver who left 1929 was b 1904 & strangely is shown as a 25yr old housewife. Travelling with a 9mth old son

There is a newspaper article 15 June 1929 - Penistone, Stockbridge and Hoyland Express.
Clifford Oliver 31 labourer of 144 High Street West Melton was questioned after they found his cap near a dead fowl.
He denied killing it, admits he had lost his cap but he was so drunk he didn't remember what he did that night.
Is this your Clifford? probably son of Edward and Elizabeth

Electoral Registers Wath Upon Dearne, Melton Ward.
From 1922- 1931 Clifford Oliver is at 144 High Street.
That is as far as ancestry has them.
So he is not the one that went to Canada.

Have a look at the 1939 register entry for Clifford Oliver b 1898 living in London. Freebmd only has one birth in 1898 (yours) - this entry has a different day & month. No marriage found
IGNORE - HE DIED AS DOUGLAS CLIFFORD M OLIVER

Thanks - yes - this is 'my' Clifford - so he wasn't the Clifford who went to Canada in 1929.
I found him in 1925 when he was in a Rotherham Court.
No sign of him after 1929 - could he have been the Clifford Oliver who went to Canada in 1931 ?
again Thanks.

WWI he joined the Royal Marines - Light Infantry 24 August 1915 service number 18851
Date of birth as 3 May 1898. There s a Pension Card on ancestry Fold 3 I don't have the extra subscription.
A pension card would tell you when they stopped paying it, - his death.
The National Archives may have further information. where he served, muster rolls, if he was injured etc.
