George McGovern b. 1850 Leitrim settled in Providence, RI. Death: 9Jan1928.
He had a brother, Edward also settled in Providence RI, b. abt 1848, died 10Feb1912.
Parents: Michael McGovern (1832-1902) and Ann Martin (1816 - 1900) settled in Dorchester/Quincy Massachusetts.
I may have a mixed family in my research due to the many McGoverns from the Leitrim/Meath area.
Leitrim church records in the early early to mid 1800's only available from rootsireland website and they only give printed transcript records - no ability to browse through originals and sort families out.
Even the National Library of Ireland is waiting to film these parish records.
Any suggestions or information on the McGovern line ?

This is the site for the Church records. follow the map for Leitrim, you will have to match the map to the townlands as Parishes names changed.
