Looking for the final resting place of Frederick Jones, who died 30 April 1961 at Warrington General Hospital. His usual address was given as Chester Road, Walton, Cheshire. He would have been aged about 74 years.
He is not buried in Warrington Cemetery (also Fox Covert and Walton Lea not open then) nor was he cremated at Manchester Crematorium.
I'm wondering which place to search next, any suggestions welcome.
Thank you.

I think Walton is near Liverpool, so maybe somewhere in the Liverpool area.
-
Sorry, not the Liverpool Walton but the Cheshire Walton near Warrington.
Walton Hall is nearby: https://waltonhallgardens.co.uk (https://waltonhallgardens.co.uk)

I didn't think of that Walton! Sometimes people are buried in or near a family grave, so perhaps where his parents are buried.
-
I've checked Wrexham Cemetery, where his parents and sisters are buried, but he's not there either!
???
-
I have no other suggestions about from either Chester or Altrincham. Hopefully, others will have more ideas.
-
thanks for that ;)

Why would you think Manchester Crematorium? Did he have family in Manchester?
Have you checked:
Walton Lea Crematorium https://www.warrington.gov.uk/walton-lea-crematorium

I think plimmerian said Walton Lea crematorium wasn't open at the time Fred Jones died.
-
Oh thanks. It was really the Manchester reference that I wondered about.
Perhaps Warrington council can advise what arrangements there were before that.

"Opened on 15 April 1964, Walton Lea Crematorium is nestled within the walls of Lord Daresbury’s old estate..."
I had an ancestor that died in 1950 in Newton-le-Willows and he was taken to Manchester Crematorium for his final resting place.
Also, Fred's sister was cremated there!
(NB: St Helens Crematorium opened in 1962)
:)

My gran died 18 April 1951 in Manchester district and was cremated, yet when I search the on line records her name doesn't come up. I have no idea why, so perhaps some of the records just aren't on line yet.

What about his wife? Is that his widow who was granted administration?
Although if she died later it could be the new crematorium.
Any newspaper announcements?

My Grandfather was cremated at Walton Lea in 1973 but his details are not in the online records, his ashes were scattered in Newton but no record of the event in St Helens records, despite a wall plaque in the Garden of Remembrance !!!

Didn't find any newspaper online.
His widow died about 1973 but I don't have the exact date - again not showing in the online records!

Lizzie, Manchester Crematorium is a private company with no connection to the council so I wouldn't expect their records to be online. However I believe they are quite helpful when receiving enquiries.
Others should note that their prewar records were destroyed in the Manchester blitz, but the local family history society have recorded the remaining memorial plaques.
Plimmerian, Altrincham crematorian seems to be used by quite a wide area, I would definitely check there.

Which online records do you mean?
The Altrincham crematorium woukd be worth checking as suggested. When I searched earlier re Walton, a Funeral site came up which mentioned the various crematoria in the area.

As my gran lived in Harpurhey, I imagine she was cremated at Blackley Crematorium which is on the Manchester on line records. I was considered too young to go to her funeral, although I was 10 at the time (and that of my other gran some 4 years earlier).
