Death registered in Douglas.

From ManxBMD.com:
1928  Dealtry Albert Richard   age 47   Douglas   Vol A   Page 2167

Manx Museum has paper records of burials, and Monumental Inscriptions.
(but I can't get there today!)

Hi yes wonderful thank you. Yes it was the link mentioned above. Dealtrey. HI Wife and daughter who also sadly died from TB moved way when he died back to Lancashire so it would only be him buried on the Isle of Man. Mt grandad was Manager of the M&S store in Douglas and flew back and fore to Liverpool, visiting friends on the island when he was there. Albert Dealtrey ran the Colonade Cafe on Victoria Street with his wife Margaret ( nee Walshe) and then they had the Bray House hotel later renamed The Gresham. She sold up and moved after he died.

Please note he was buried at Douglas Borough Cemetery not at Onchan. I've been caught out myself by this Onchan/Dbc thing in the past and been at the wrong location looking for a grave  ;D

DEALTRY, Albert Richard    47    Dbc    27 Jan 1928

Before Douglas became a town/parish, what is now Douglas was split between the parishes of Braddan and Onchan.
But 1928 is a little late for this confusion? Curious!

Probably Kirk Onchan - St Peter. Onchan is still an area of North Douglas

Just to reiterate, we've had this problem before with burial records saying Onchan when the actual burial place is Douglas Borough Cemetery. See this previous thread:-

I spent 15-20 mins at the Manx Museum  Library this morning.
Just to confirm:
DEALTRY, Albert Richard is buried at Douglas Borough Cemetery, Section C, Plot 49.

On checking the Monumental Inscriptions, there is no stone on that plot.

I have some photos of the relevant pages, which I will post later.
