Title: Bridget Dowdall
Post by: DowdallC on Wednesday 14 February 24 18:15 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find Bridget Dowdall d.o.b 11th October 1883 Miskish More Inniskeen County Monaghan.
No recorded of her on the 1901-1911 census.  Not sure where else to look.  I dont think she went to America or anywhere.
I have her marriage to Owen Duffy Ballyrush Inniskeen County Monaghan on 7th March 1916.
Any ideas that might help me.

Thanks

Hi

When Bridget married Owen Duffy in 1916, her father’s name was stated to be James.  See

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1916/09768/5545842.pdf

So, looking for a Bridget Dowdall, with a father James, I see an 1883 birth, in the right area.  See

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1883/02714/1999159.pdf

Regards

Yes Kiltaglassan, that’s the link I posted.

Also in the 1901 Census, showing Anne Dowdall, who was a witness at Bridget’s marriage.

Yes you have the correct information.  Can you see where she was from 1901 to 1911.  I'm assuming that she was working elsewhere.

Thanks for the input.

Yes Kiltaglassan  - I highlighted sister Anne as witness to Bridget’s marriage, but also listed in 1901 census.

I can only see mother Anne in 1901. There is no child Anne. Is she one of the children who died?

Agreed, heywood.
In the 1901 census, the mother was Anne   ;)
