When I go on to some websites I get the message that the connection is not secure. Is the problem my end or the website owner? Example below.

I use the site regularly and have no problems.
Gadget
add - I've just checked and address is
https://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/

Firefox, which I use, has a help page that explains the reasons behind what you're seeing, and what settings you can adjust:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/https-only-prefs
Other browsers will probably have similar help pages tailored to their own settings and options.

I've just checked that via my Family History folder and it comes up correctly. I wonder if it is something to do with when you wish to unsubscribe from a website? That was what I was doing with the Durham Records website.
I've had that before. If I wished to unsubscribe from a newsletter/information email it comes up with with the connection unsecure.
I guess I shall have to notify the relevant website each time I wish to unsubscribe from a newsletter.
Could it have something to do with that? However I also get that when going direct to a website, but not for every one.

Thanks for the link Arthurk, I'll try that and see if it will apply to Google Chrome.

I can't think why that should be the case. I don't want to unsubscribe from the DRO newsletter, but I tried the link in it for amending preferences, which goes to the same domain, and that opened in https for me. Rather slowly, but it got there eventually.

Ok, thanks for your response Arthurk. I'll leave it for the moment and see what I can find out later. I may ask my Son-in-Law as he is a computer man. He may know the answer to the problem.

Sounds a good idea - and of course it might sort itself out in the meantime.
As it happens, the same thing has happened to me today at a different FH forum. Normally it goes through as https, but every so often it doesn't and I get the warning. Usually then the http version loads if I ask for it, but today it didn't. I wonder if it could all be some kind of server overload and the backup ones don't support https?

There was a server problem with RootsChat yesterday?
Or rather with CloudFlare, I tried 3 times to reply to a post!
And others had the same problem; hence the number of duplicate posts.
