Title: Latin Admin 1504
Post by: mcmp on Friday 10 May 24 13:49 BST (UK)
Could I please ask for detail of these two sentences from Latin Admin records,
1) 1504 I think,
and
2) for Hadlow, admin, to or from (?) John Barton

The date appears to be:  ...ix die mens(is) Maij A(nn)o d(omi)ni Mill(es)imo Quingentesimo iiijto

Therefore:  9 May 1504

If the first word of the second extract is a contraction of Em(anavi)t, then I think it is saying that a letter of administration has flowed out to John Barton to administer the goods of his deceased father.

I'm also not certain that p(at)ris is the correct reading.

I agree with all the above.

Thanks both.
The reference to his father must be correct, which fits in with what I already have.
Thanks again
