What else can you tell us about Ralph?

Siely

You have been asked on a number of your posts to ensure you give all info.  What efforts have you made to establish his wife’s name?  If you don’t know her name - how do you know she is deceased?

Suggest you use freebmd to find the marriage then use that info to search for her death

He left a will - you can download a copy for £1.50 - she may be mentioned

https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate

What is your interest/connection to them?

He is a  distant in-law. Place of residence  may have been Solihull that's all we know.

As advised on a recent previous post (removed by moderator)  - Rootschat does not allow the publication of names of living persons. Please remove the childrens names from your post

Look up the childrens births to get their mothers maiden name then look for a marriage of a Ralph Cox to get her christian name

We would be using freebmd and the gro index to find that information for you, both of which are free sites so available for you to use without a subscription.  As Carole mentioned there also appears to be a will for Ralph which you can purchase online for a small fee.

You should return to the post where you have the children’s names and by using the modify button remove them.

Try 1957 for his birth, and 1961 for her birth.

I have removed, wasn't sure if it was correct or not anyway

Nothing

So how would you know if any info posted was correct??

How do you know he was a "distant in-law." if you don't know anything about him??

How do you know he is the same Ralph Cox who died in 2013?

You need to look at your post & replies from a readers perspective.

Yes I understand I do most humbly apologise for not knowing all the machinations inside my family. Of course, not knowing is the primary motive for finding out.

Presumably Ralph must be in your tree somewhere then to have started with him so where is the connection.  If you don’t know we certainly don’t.   :)

Ralph's Spouse surname is Breakwell who died 1984.

So you have found the death that you were looking for then.

The marriage for her gives a middle initial for her husband which is not apparent on the death you have quoted.

I think Siely needs to re-examine the connection to his FH and perhaps check details with other relatives for accuracy to enable identification of the right person etc

I agree Carole,  nothing worse than following the wrong family  :)

We got the year 2013 right at least but in Cumbria

You may have got the right year of death  - but not necessarily the right person.  The death details you posted have a 1929 birthyear and no middle name.  The other has a 1930 birthyear & a middle name

You need to determine which is correct

But it was time wasting when the facts were not right  :).   Are you sure that you have the right person now.

Re checking for accuracy - if you look up the 2 births on freebmd you will find both were born in Warwickshire
