I am looking for information on my mother in laws brother Derrick Webb born in Woodbridge, Suffolk 1928. His mother was Florence Minnie Everett. ( she used Fisher and Webb her married name) We have been told Derrick's father was a German insurance man who lived and worked in the Ipswich area of Suffolk around 1925- assuming 1939 when WW2 broke out he went back to Germany) . I understand when the war finished Derrick went and lived in the German area of Flensburg, Schleswig- Holstein. It is thought he ran a hotel in the area, though do not really know. I am trying to trace Derrick's father who is also my mother in laws father. grateful for any leads or suggestions on how to move this forward. We think Derrick died in Germany around 1986. DNA has been done, but so far no leads. Thank you

Thank you. I should have said I have the birth cirtificate and there is no father’s name on Derrick’s or his sisters which is how we found out about this. We always thought that Derrick and my mother in law Olive had the same father as the rest of their siblings ‘Webb’

Here's a Kelly's directory for 1930, Ipswich.

You could look up the addresses from the birth certificates of Derrick and Olive, and also look for an insurance man who might fit.
