I dont know much about John Trotman. I know he moved to Panama to work in the railroad. I think he was in Jamaica before, but not clear if he was born there or moved from england. I know the family was from Gloucestershire. I have a letter he wrote in 1908 to the Panama railroad requesting time off to check on his land in jamaica and that his father went back to Ireland. He passed away shortly after at an early age of like 40. Any help will be appreciated.

Have you looked at the records on FamilySearch?
One employment record says he was born in Barbados 1872

And there is a photograph.
Does that look right?
